Becoming a prepper is a fairly big decision that requires you to take on an entirely new lifestyle. That lifestyle is one that means devoting a significant amount of time and energy to stocking up on necessary survival items. It also means that you will spend a significant amount of time developing new skills. Some skills are far more important than others. Here are some of the most important skills you can develop as a prepper and why you must develop them sooner rather than later.
Properly Building a Fire
Building a fire is one of the most important skills anybody, prepper or otherwise, can learn. Being able to build a fire is what helped to propel us as a species to being the dominant ones on this planet. You do not necessarily have to learn how to build a fire with only two sticks but you do need to learn how to build a fire by properly arranging the wood and picking the wood that is most suitable for burning. After all, it does not matter if you can build a big fire if that fire goes out in less than an hour or two. There are multiple different fire starters that you can use, including the best rain proof fire starter.
Nobody wants to think about the terrible situations that come about in a crisis or disaster. Unfortunately, one of those potential situations is that of having to defend yourself, be it from hostile people or animals. For this reason it is absolutely critical that you learn how to handle a crossbow, firearm, or some other form of weapon. To not have this skill could potentially place you and your family in further danger.
